HCU Language Center
The Language Center is on the 4th story of the Library building and commands a panoramic view of SEIFUSHINTO, Western Hillside District Town in Hiroshima. The center is open for our students' full utilization. We provide a rich selection of language learning materials reflecting students' voices.

About Us
The Language Center was established in Heisei 6 (1994), at the time of the founding of Hiroshima City University, as one of the university’s three principal facilities, with the aim of supporting language learning on campus.
As computers and the internet have evolved, the facilities within the Center have also undergone continual changes and upgrades.
The Language Lounge, which serves as the main venue for the Language Tutor Program, was renovated in the spring of 2026 and now accommodates independent study as well as group-based active learning.
